History:
Tiger Field has been the home field of the Bentonville High School Tigers baseball team since 2005. The park replaced Phillips Park, an off-campus ballfield in Bentonville.
The ballpark is one of, if not the, best on-campus high school baseball facilities in Arkansas. It opened in 2005 as part of the Tiger Athletic Complex, which includes a football field, soccer field, softball field and of course, Tiger Field.
The Tiger Athletic Complex was designed by Hight-Jackson and Associates and built by Crossland Construction in 2004. Ground was broke on the complex on December 1st, 2003, and is considered today as the best high school sports complexes in the state.
Tiger Field, like all of the facilities at the Tiger Athletic Complex, features artificial turf, though just in the infield. Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock and Bear Stadium in Conway are the only other baseball fields in the state with turf, both too only in the infield.
Tiger Field also features a metal, uncovered, bleacher-style grandstand behind homeplate, seating approximately 250. A good-sized press box is located atop the grandstand, and a large concourse with a concession stand is located just to the west of the ballpark.
